SAYIPPU POOVANTE SAHASAM

MOONGAMMAYUM ANNAANKUNJUM

     SAYIPPU POOVANTE SAHASAM

(Adventure of "Sayippu" Rooster)

He is white; taller and fatter than his companions, so his friends called him SAPU, short form of SAYIPPU POOVAN, meaning ‘White’ Rooster.

SAPU believes that, it is because of him crowing, the sun rises, birds wake up and flowers bloom.

Mali presents the story in such an interesting manner with incidents that teaches life’s valuable lessons to the Rooster.  The imageries reflect basic human instincts of arrogance, jealousy and over-confidence, which lead their own life to disaster.

MOONGAMMAYUM ANNAANKUNJUM

(The mother Owl and the little Squirrel)

The cool fresh green grass is all set for the squirrel and chameleon to start their games.  The Sun is shedding the warm morning light evaporating the excess water from grass tips.

Most exciting event in the sequence is to see the winner having a ride on top of the loser, after the chase.  Both the winner and the loser are enjoying the fun!

Normally, the villain has to appear at this point of the story…..

Mali’s characters most often reproduce his ideology.  This story focuses on the love and affection among living beings on this beautiful earth.
