He
is white; taller and fatter than his companions, so his friends
called him SAPU, short form of SAYIPPU POOVAN, meaning ‘White’
Rooster.
SAPU
believes that, it is because of him crowing, the sun rises, birds
wake up and flowers bloom.
Mali
presents the story in such an interesting manner with incidents that
teaches life’s valuable lessons to the Rooster. The
imageries reflect basic human instincts of arrogance, jealousy and
over-confidence, which lead their own life to disaster.
